SOUNDTRACK OF A MODERN SCOTLAND
Working within the genres of Celtic traditional folk and electronic dance music, an original suite of music for a film could not only give it a specific sense of place within Scotland, but also give films a contemporary edge - helping authentically tell the story of a modern Scotland.
CASE STUDY
Whilst producing a film for an organisation called The Lost Woods about youth-led tree planting in Glasgow called Growing the Glasgow Children's Woodland, an original soundtrack was composed and recorded to give a feeling of upbeat, hopeful and contemporary Scotland.
To achieve this, a jig tune was written and made into three tracks featuring different variations which play at different points throughout the film. Listen to the three tracks below.
